When introduced to your dentist, we will ask you a few questions to determine why you have come in to see us, and your previous dental history.
Your consultation will begin with an examination of your jaw joint and alignment. We will carry out a full examination of the skin and soft tissue of your mouth including an oral cancer screening. A gum health check will always be carried out as well as an analysis of tooth wear. A full and thorough examination of the teeth and mouth will be carried out along with detailed radiographic examination using the latest digital technology to minimise the x-ray dose.
All our examinations are carried out at high magnification to ensure we identify and address your problems as accurately as possible.
We were the first practice in Northern Ireland to invest in a Carl Zeiss dental Microscope in 2010.
Photographs of your teeth may be taken and used to explore and discuss your personal treatment needs on the chair-side screen: you can see what we can see.
Your personal treatment options will be discussed with you, whether you need one filling or full mouth rehabilitation.
At the earliest opportunity your plan will be confirmed in writing.
For some treatments we offer a free assessment, this abbreviated examination is simply to assess your suitability for that specific treatment and a full examination may be required before you commence. This allows you to check if you can have your desired treatment whether it be tooth straightening, dental whitening, cosmetic braces etc without any initial cost.
